Lonar Lake is a saltwater lake situated in the district of Buldhana in Maharashtra.
This is the first lake created by the collision of a celestial meteorite. Its saline water symbolizes the fact that sometimes there was a sea. At the time of its formation, there was a collision of about one million tonnes of meteorite.
The depth of this meteoric lake of about 1.8 km is approximately five hundred meters. Today even scientists are undergoing extensive research on the subject that the collision that took place in Lonar, between the meteor mass and the earth, or any other planet had collided with the earth. . At that time, he had broken into three parts and he also made a lake in two other places besides the Lonar, although there is no special significance for the well-dried Amber and Ganesha lakes.
